MEWP/ Boom Lift Training

Cherry Picker & Scissor lifts are two of the most widely used pieces of equipment to get people working at height quickly and safely for everything from roofing repairs to tree surgery. We offer a range of accredited training courses on cherry pickers and boom lifts to RTITB standards. From understanding the equipment to the many safety risks involved in using them, This industry recognised course ensures your operators keep you within the legislation of PUWER 98 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Successful delegates will be fully qualified to operate cherry pickers and platform boom lifts safely and professionally to industry recognised standards.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course the operator should be able to:

  • The site and operate the machine safely in relation to the task.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of responsibilities under current relevant legislation.
  • Operate machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers manual and instructions and accepted good practice.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the need for Personal Protective Equipment.

Course Duration

  • 1-day refresher course for up to 3 operators
  • 2-day novice course for up to 3 operators

 

Certification:

Each delegate will be given a theoretical (multi-choice format) test to assess their job-related safety knowledge, pre-use and a practical test, upon successful completion a certificate of basic training will be awarded.

As an accredited training organisation, we can offer a certification either at a non-accredited level (known as in house) training which allows the delegates to use this training for your company only, or we can also offer a national photo ID certificate at a cost of £20.00 per person. This then enables the trainee to operate (with permission) anywhere in the UK. Their names and details are kept on a national database. The certificate is valid throughout the UK and will be recognised by both employment agencies and perspective employers.

When conducting training at customers’ premises we will require the following:

  • An open area either indoors or outdoors
  • LOLER certification
  • A room in which to carry out the theory training.
