Overhead Crane Training Course
All our Overhead Crane Training courses are carried out on customer premises. This gives every trainee the opportunity to acquire a full understanding and appreciation for the exact piece of equipment they will be using during their normal working day.
The loads they will be moving will also be familiar to them.
All our Overhead Crane Training courses contain a theory section and practical elements. The theory part will incorporate a PowerPoint presentation and relevant video.
During the practical element, the trainee will be required to sling various loads using various lifting accessories and manoeuvre the load safely. If the trainee passes a practical and theory test only then will they be considered competent
Types of Crane and Lifting accessories
Our Crane Operator Training & Slinging courses cover a range of lifting equipment, some of the equipment we train on is as follows; overhead cranes, jib cranes, gantry cranes, mobile cranes, lorry mounted cranes and iron fairies.
Some of the lifting accessories we use are; slings, chains, lifting beams, plate clamps, magnets, vacuum lifts, eye bolts, shackles and many more.
Course location
Wherever your location, it is possible for us to carry out Crane Operator Training on your premises. We can cover any shift pattern or weekend at no extra cost to you. If you require any other type of industrial training please contact us on 01256 889489
Course Duration
1-day refresher course for up to 4 experienced operators, who have held a valid certificate
2-day basic training course for up to 4 novice operators or with little experience
Certification
Each delegate will be given a theoretical (multi-choice format) test to assess their job-related safety knowledge, pre-use and a practical test, upon successful completion a certificate of basic training will be awarded.
As an accredited training organisation, we can offer a certification either at a non-accredited level (known as in house) training which allows the delegates to use this training for your company only, or we can also offer a national photo ID certificate at a cost of £20.00 per person. This then enables the trainee to operate (with permission) anywhere in the UK. Their names and details are kept on a national database. The certificate is valid throughout the UK and will be recognised by both employment agencies and perspective employers.
When conducting training at customers’ premises we will require the following:
- An open area either indoors or outdoors
- Any attachments ( Lifting with a LOLER98 certificate )
- Test weights to lift.
- A room in which to carry out the theory training.
