Overhead Cranes (also referred to as gantry cranes) are a hoist crane that operate in warehouses. They are fitted overhead and are useful for loads that have an offset centre of gravity, large loads, and anything that can be attached to a hook for lifting. You must be trained to use any type of overhead crane.
You can also get attachments that can be fitted onto an overhead crane to deal with different sized and shaped loads. These vary depending on what is required of the crane; this can include clamps, sheet lifters, and different sized lifting beams. Remember you must be trained to use any attachment.
