Counterbalance Forklift Training

Counterbalance forklifts are the most common type of forklift that are usually found in warehouses. However, there are many different sizes of counterbalance trucks and some variants are being used in construction sites and on docks.

The name of the truck comes from the way there is a heavy counterweight to the rear of the truck. This is designed to balance the weight of the load, enabling the truck to stay balanced and stable, avoiding tip overs.

You can find both 3 wheeled and 4 wheeled counterbalance forklifts. The safety factors always stay the same regardless of the size of your truck, always perform safe practices.

Counterbalance forklifts are powered in 3 main ways:

Electric – Smaller trucks, used inside warehouses etc.

Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) – Larger trucks, mainly used in distribution yards

Diesel/Petrol – Larger Trucks, used on construction sites and docks.
