Scissor lifts are a vital piece of equipment when working at height, along with cherry pickers. They provide a stable working platform for workers to perform jobs at height. We also provide Cherry Picker training, for more information please click here

MEWP’s, We Provide Training for
1A – Static Vertical (Scissor Lift)
1B – Static Boom (Cherry Picker)
(Moving Elevated Working Platform)
Did you know you must use a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Working Platform, i.e. cherry picker/scissor lift) for any
planned work you wish to carry out? Meaning you could not use a lift truck with a man cage attachment on it on a regular basis.
Did you know that harnesses only must be used when operating outdoors?
It is not a legal requirement to wear a harness while operating a scissor lift indoors, this is because there is less risk of tipping over/falling off the MEWP as there shouldn’t be any wind.
There are certain weather requirements that affect the usage of scissor lifts. You cannot operate a scissor lift if the wind force is above 18 mph, this is because it severely affects the stability of the scissor lift and makes it unsafe for use.
Scissor lifts also have emergency controls on the lower section of the body. This is in the case of an unexpected power out, allowing someone else to safely lower the operator down so they can exit the scissor lift without having to leave the safety of the platform barriers.
There are several more safety factors relevant to Scissor Lifts. Our Nationally Accredited Training Courses will ensure that you, a potential future operator, will always stay safe and leave work the same way you arrived.
